Ibnul is a first-year PhD student in the Department of Politics at York University, having completed his master's at McMaster University and bachelor's at the University of Toronto. He previously worked as a content editor at The Globe and Mail. His primary research interest is Canada's securitization of Chinese technological power, such as in critical minerals and electric vehicles, and how it reflects the elite struggle between forces committed to economic engagement on the one hand and those pushing for confrontation on the other.
