Ms Lucy Shao is an MSc Climate Change and Sustainable Development student at University of Dar es Salaam’s Institute of Resource Assessment (IRA). She has a solid academic foundation in Political Science and Public Policy. Her research interests focus on the intersection of natural resource governance, environmental sustainability, and the energy transition. In addition to her academic pursuits, she leads the Advocacy and Engagement Unit at HakiRasilimali, where she applies evidence-based policy influencing to advance sustainable development and responsible resource governance. Her expertise lies in conducting analytical-driven advocacy that informs policy decisions, ensuring sustainable and equitable outcomes. She is particularly interested in storytelling as a means of translating complex issues in the mining sector, ESG considerations, climate change, and energy transition into accessible and engaging narratives.
