Marie Rose Bashwira

Marie-Rose Bashwira obtained her PhD in the Department of Humanitarian Aid and Reconstruction, focusing on women and mining governance in the DRC and is a Research Fellow at the International Institute of Social Studies (Erasmus University). She is also a member of the Centre de d’Expertise en Gestion Miniere (CEGEMI-UCB). Her research mainly focuses on gender and mining governance in the Eastern DRC.   Apart from this, she is also involved in research on socio-economic impacts of mining, mining value chains, peace and security, entrepreneurship, and climate change.

Marie-Rose has also partaken in international conferences as a guest speaker and served as a guest lecturer at the University of Washington School of Law and Vrijr Universiteit Amsterdam for her research and expertise in gender dynamics and social justice.
