Mutuso Dhliwayo

Mutuso Dhliwayo is the Executive Director of the Zimbabwe Environmental Law Association (ZELA) and its research arm, the Africa Institute of Environmental Law (AIEL). A lawyer with a wealth of expertise spanning environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues, he is a leading voice on global sustainable development. Dhliwayo holds a Master of Laws in Constitutional and Human Rights Law, an MSc in Environment and Development, a Bachelor of Laws Honours (LLBs), and is a qualified ESG Investment practitioner with a CFA Investment certification (2024). His extensive experience in conservation and natural resources management further position him as a prominent figure in the sector(s).

Mutuso is a respected researcher with over 20 years of experience in natural resources governance. His work has focused on using legal and policy instruments to promote sustainable development in areas like mining, forestry, water, and wildlife management. Dhliwayo's vast publication record and consulting experience with leading international organisations demonstrate his expertise in navigating complex environmental and resource management issues.
