David Szablowski

David Szablowski is an associate professor in law and society at York University. He teaches in the areas of globalization and the law, ethnography and human rights, legal pluralism, sociolegal theory, and sociolegal approaches to games studies. His main research interests concern the transnational governance of resource extraction and its implications for social and environmental justice. His work draws upon sociolegal, political ecology, and legal pluralist perspectives to develop a critical understanding of the roles played by diverse legal orders and institutions in the governance of extraction. He is also a member of the Ontario bar.
